34 Things To Do On LinkedIn (other than Post Your Resume)

Thumbnail image for 34 Things To Do On LinkedIn (other than Post Your Resume)

LinkedIn is another of the four Grande Dames of social networks (the big 4 are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube at the moment, by number of users and social popularity). Think of LinkedIn as an online, dynamic rolodex and resume all rolled into one. It’s the ultimate in a living, breathing resume because it’s constantly active (or should be) and reflects the past and present you as well as being the preferred way to connect online for professional networking. More and more companies are leveraging and mining this massive database of online resumes to find talent, recruit new hires and find [...]

Thumbnail image for Top 34 Social Media To-Do’s for Marketing Managers

Realtors and Social Media: An Argument for Engagement

Many businesses are struggling to grapple with the concept of how social media can work for them in their business, not the least of which is the world of realtors and real estate. Many realtors still think of social media as that intangible, “virtual” place – the “world wide web”, an online place of bits and bytes where most interaction is with a computer or laptop or keyboard. Thumbnail image for Anyone notice anything different? People searching has shifted

Today, I found out about my 25th University Alumni Reunion (University of Arizona, in case you wanted to know) through Facebook. Am I the only one who doesn’t use Google to find someone so much anymore? If I want to find someone, I used to look in www.whitepages.com. Now I look first on Facebook, LinkedIn and possibly Twitter. If I’m just looking for information, yes – I’ll still go to Google – but not always, mind you… My searches – at least for people – are shifting, from the #1 search engine to social networking sites…

Got my Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts – now what?

For many people I speak to who have begun to stick their toe in the water with Social Media, many say that they opened their Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts, started Tweeting, Facebooking and LinkingIn but just aren’t really seeing much in the way of results. My question to them is usually “What goal do you have in mind with your Social Media Strategy?”. Most of the time, people are so excited about the the possibilities of connecting with potential clients and reaching so many people with the low-cost tools of Social Media that they jump in, feet first – and [...]
